Online Applications and Help

You may find the answers to many questions about applying for or renewing licenses on the DOE's Licensure website. In most cases, this is the most efficient way to find out about licensure. Through this web page you can apply for licensure online (by clicking on "Academic" and then "Apply Online"); check the status of your application (by clicking on "Academic" and then "Check Status"); and determine the requirements for a particular license (by going to Licensure Help Online). Also, the DOE's FAQ website is helpful toward answering your licensure questions.

Phone Service

The MA DOE's Call Center is available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00AM - 4:45PM and Wednesday from 9:00AM to 7:00PM at (781) 338-6600.

Walk-In Service

The DOE Office of Educator Certification and Licensure's walk-in service is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Educator Licensure Service Office on the third floor of the Department of Education, 350 Main Street in Malden.

For questions regarding MTEL test registration, administration procedures, admission tickets, score reports or to request a copy of the MTEL Registration Bulletin to be sent to you through the mail call (413) 256-2892. Online test registration and test preparation materials are available through NES's MTEL website which is very user-friendly.
