HGSE Convocation

Wednesday, June 4
3:00 p.m. in Radcliffe Yard

Dean Kathleen McCartney welcomes all graduates and guests and introduces the afternoon's three speakers: the winner of the HGSE Student Speech Competition, the student-elected faculty speaker, and the recipient of the HGSE Alumni Council Award. This year’s Alumni Award winner is Geoffrey Canada, Ed.M.’75 and founder of the Harlem Children’s Zone in New York City. Alumni are welcome to attend this ceremony. Read more.

Harvard University Commencement Exercises

Thursday, June 5, 2008
Tickets for the morning exercises are not available and access to the Tercentenary Theatre is restricted.

HGSE Presentation of Diplomas and Certificates

Thursday, June 5
12:00 pm in Radcliffe Yard

HGSE diplomas and certificates are awarded to all graduates (both doctoral and masters) on stage in Radcliffe Yard. Dean McCartney will speak briefly, after which graduates will be individually presented with degrees and will walk across the stage. Alumni are welcome to attend this ceremony.

University Alumni Exercises

Thursday, June 5
2:30 p.m. in Harvard Yard

The afternoon Alumni Exercises in Harvard Yard will feature presentations by President Faust and the 2008 University Distinguished Commencement Speaker, J.K. Rowling. The program includes an alumni procession. Tickets are required.

Expected attendance this year is high and tickets are available on a first come first serve basis to HGSE Alumni.  Please send ticket requests to Alexandra Monti at the Harvard Alumni Association (alexandra_monti@harvard.edu).

Requests should include:  
Full Name
Degree and Year
Mailing address (late May)
The total number of tickets needed
