Services

Gutman Library offers a variety of services to the HGSE community, to the larger Harvard community, and to other groups as specified. Please contact us for additional information.

Alumni Services

Once you graduate, you maintain access privileges to the HGSE library. Apply online for an HGSE Alumni Library Card, and read more about on-site and off-site access to electronic resources.

Cambridge College

Cambridge College students have access to Gutman Library's collections and may apply for borrowing privileges. Learn more about online reference assistance, library tours, and research consultations.

Circulation

Contact the Circulation Department for information about access and borrowing privileges, renewals, reserves, services for persons with disabilities, and more.

Distance Services

Gutman provides library services to HGSE students and faculty working at a distance. Learn more about the library's remote circulation, document delivery, and research services.

Facilities and Equipment

More than 40 computers, wireless networking, photocopiers, and fax services are available in the library.

Faculty Services

The library provides document delivery services for books and journal articles not available at Gutman. Current Awareness provides tables of contents from selected education journals; current Faculty Publications provides a semi-annual bibliography of HGSE faculty publications.

Institutional Service Packages

Institutional Service Packages make many of Gutman's services, including borrowing privileges and research consultations, available to organizations such as school systems, educational consulting companies, principal and teacher networks, and local colleges.

Interlibrary Loan

Current HGSE students may request books and photocopies of articles not owned by Harvard. Current HGSE faculty and staff may request books and photocopies of articles not owned by Gutman, but held at other Harvard libraries or at other institutions. Use the ILL renewal request form to renew books borrowed for you from NON-HARVARD libraries or from Countway Library.

Research & Instruction Services

Ask Us for research advice, answers to questions, or assistance finding information. Contact us to make an appointment for a research, dissertation, academic writing, or research methods consultation. We also offer workshops on finding books and articles, and using APA and EndNote. Services for Persons with Disabilities

Library staff will make every reasonable effort to assist patrons with special needs. Read more about access to print and online collections, workstations and equipment, and assistance with research.
