Institutional Service Packages

The Monroe C. Gutman Library at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, one of the world's largest education libraries, provides research and information services to the Graduate School of Education and greater Harvard communities. The library is also strongly committed to working with other researchers and practitioners in the field.

The Institutional Service Package makes most of Gutman's services available to organizations such as school systems, educational consulting companies, principal and teacher networks, and local colleges.

Services include:

  • five Gutman access cards, which provide access to, and borrowing privileges at, Gutman Library
  • on-site use of Harvard Libraries electronic resources, including thousands of online journals
  • copies of Gutman's guides and publications
  • research consultation via e-mail, phone, or in person
  • library orientation programs
  • workshops on use of Gutman's resources and Harvard's electronic resources
  • workshops on research techniques
  • customized presentations, tours, and workshops for your group
  • interlibrary loan -- if an item isn't at Gutman, we'll get it for you (10 items annually)
  • photocopies of journal articles or ERIC documents (20 items annually)
  • additional Gutman access cards may be purchased at a reduced rate

Service Packages run from July through the following June and are renewable annually. Services may be used by anyone designated by the member institution. Institutions may also tailor the services to suit their particular needs. Please contact John W.
