Dean's Distinguished Lecture - Teaching and Learning in the Developing World
This lecture will feature Princess Zahra Aga Khan AB’94, Member of the Board of Directors of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and Director of the Social Welfare Department. The AKDN is a group of private international, non-denominational agencies working to improve living conditions and opportunities for people in specific regions of the developing world. Fields range from health and education to architecture, rural development, and the promotion of private sector enterprise. She has responsibility for specific social development institutions of the AKDN, including the Aga Khan Education Services, Aga Khan Health Services and Aga Khan Planning and Building Services. Ali Asani AB’77 PhD’84, Professor of the Practice of Indo-Muslim Languages and Cultures, Faculty of Arts
and Sciences, will provide an introduction. This event will be hosted by Kathleen McCartney, Dean and Gerald S. Lesser Professor in Early Childhood Development, Harvard Graduate School of Education. Seating is limited and reservations are encouraged.
