Reimers Named International Academy of Education Fellow

Posted: August 2, 2007

Professor Fernando Reimers was recently named a fellow to the International Academy of Education. The Academy is a nonprofit scientific association that supports the dissemination and implementation of educational research. Current fellows nominated and elected Reimers.

“I am deeply honored to accept the invitation of the International Academy of Education to become their newest fellow,” Reimers says. “I have great appreciation for the work of this college defining global education research priorities for the improvement of the educational enterprise and bridging the worlds of education research, policy, and practice. I look forward to stimulating collaboration with my 41 fellow colleagues from universities in 17 different countries.”

Founded in 1986, the Academy, located in Brussels, Belgium, is dedicated to strengthening the contributions of research, solving critical educational problems throughout the world, and providing better communication among policymakers, researchers, and practitioners.
