Program Description

The Education Policy and Management (EPM) master's program seeks to develop effective leaders by providing an atmosphere that promotes the understanding of diverse viewpoints from a wide range of disciplines. The program allows for great flexibility so that students may be exposed to a variety of topics and learn about the context of education both in and outside of schools. The courses included in EPM are diverse and examine aspects of education using multiple lenses with an emphasis on practice.

Our courses of instruction include the following topics:

  • Communities and Schools
  • Economics of Education
  • General Management Skills
  • History of Education
  • Labor Relations
  • Legal Issues in Education
  • Organizational Behavior
  • Public Policy
  • Research Methods and Data Analysis
  • Schools and Principalships
  • Sociology of Education

Graduates of the EPM Program enter all parts of education, including school leadership, teaching, policy analysis and research, planning, and consulting.

The Education Policy and Managment Program is a one-year full time masters program. Additionally, it is preferred that applicants to the EPM program have some full-time work experience.
