Students to Assess Young Children's Language and Literacy Skills for Nationally Funded Research

As part of a research effort based at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, assessors are needed to administer a series of language and literacy tasks to young children from Spanish-speaking backgrounds.  We will need both native speakers of Spanish to administer tests in Spanish and native speakers of English to administer tests in English.   The children, who will be 4 years old this fall, will be assessed once this fall, again in the spring, and then annually through their 2nd grade school year.

Interest in and/or experience with assessments of young children is a definite plus, as is course work in linguistics, language acquisition, second language acquisition, or child psychology. Access to a reliable car will be necessary for some sites.

Rates: Undergraduates will be paid $15 an hour and graduate students will be paid $20 an hour. You will be reimbursed for travel expenses.

Contact: Send a resume and statement of interest to Mariela Páez at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, mariela_paez@gse.harvard.edu (no phone calls please).
